Intermediate hand taps are designed for the second stage of threading, used after a taper tap to further form and deepen internal threads. They provide improved control and accuracy, making them ideal for preparing threads before final finishing in both through and blind holes.

- Used after a taper lead tap and are suitable for through holes or blind holes where the thread does not need to go right to the bottom of the hole
- Square shank for use with a suitable tap wrench to drive the tap
- Made from M2 High Speed Steel for wear resistance and toughness
